Paper Portals is a nod to my career as a film photographer. Shooting film is such a joy to me as it feels more like a collaboration with spirit than something I create on my own. By this I mean when my film would be developed, I was often blown away by the coloring, grain or light leaks that make each photo uniue. Although I didn’t do these things on my own I was given credit for them as the artist. To evoke that same feeling in my collage work I painted around 30 grocery bags and blindly picked three colors for each pages. The colors were so different from what I would have chosen myself but came out in such a beautiful way. This piece is made using 100% recycled materials and will have lots of little wrinkles and uniue texture due to these details. Price includes shipping.
